Supplier Selection and Qualification

At AMPOWER, we are committed to building a reliable and responsible supply chain. We partner with suppliers who demonstrate stable delivery capabilities, meet our operational needs, and comply with all relevant regulations. Our structured qualification process strengthens risk management and supports long-term sustainability goals.

Supplier Qualification Process

  • Potential suppliers are jointly assessed by the procurement and requesting departments, and must submit a Supplier Information Form for review.
  • Upon approval, suppliers are entered into our system and categorized in the Approved Supplier List.
  • Suppliers that fail to meet evaluation criteria are either excluded or disqualified.

We also place strong emphasis on suppliers’ environmental, health and safety, and human rights practices. Our expectations include:

Sustainability Requirements for Suppliers

  • Environmental Responsibility: Suppliers must comply with all applicable environmental regulations, conduct regular impact assessments, and hold certifications such as ISO 14001.
  • Occupational Health & Safety: Suppliers must establish OHS management systems, obtain certifications like OHSAS 18001 or ISO 45001, and implement regular safety audits and employee training.
  • Labor Rights: Suppliers are expected to follow ILO standards, prohibit child and forced labor, and ensure compliance with wage and working hour regulations.

To ensure continuous alignment with our standards, we implement the following measures:

  • Self-Assessments and Compliance Reporting: Suppliers must conduct regular self-assessments and report on their ESG performance.
  • Support and Training: We provide training and guidance to help underperforming suppliers meet compliance expectations.
  • Performance Reviews and Accountability: Supplier performance is regularly evaluated, with sustainability metrics used to inform collaboration decisions, rewards, or corrective actions.
Supplier Evaluation Framework

To maintain procurement quality and mitigate supply chain risks, AMPOWER implements a structured, risk-based supplier evaluation mechanism tailored by supplier category:

  • Primary Suppliers (e.g., those providing key materials or components): Evaluated annually; immediate reassessment may occur in response to significant quality issues.
  • Secondary Suppliers (top three by annual procurement volume): Evaluated biennially.
  • Exemptions apply to:
    • Low-value or infrequent purchases (under NT$100,000 or fewer than 10 transactions annually)
    • Market-exclusive or customer-designated suppliers
    • Overseas suppliers where evaluations are impractical

Note: Even if exempt, suppliers with recurring quality or delivery issues are subject to site audits and mandatory corrective actions, which may be communicated to customers.

Evaluation Process and Accountability

Procurement and related departments conduct evaluations using the standardized Supplier Evaluation Form, with final approval from authorized managers. Suppliers that fail to meet requirements must resolve issues within a set timeframe. Continued noncompliance will result in removal from the Approved Supplier List.

Price Competitiveness

We regularly benchmark long-term supplier pricing against market rates to ensure cost efficiency and protect shareholder value.

Supplier Data Governance

Suppliers must report changes to core information (e.g., company name, bank details, payment terms) for approval and system update. Supporting documents must be retained for compliance.

All records and evaluation results are archived in accordance with internal control standards.

Evaluation Criteria

To align with AMPOWER’s high standards, suppliers are assessed across four key dimensions. This evaluation framework ensures supplier performance meets AMPOWER’s expectations in quality, compliance, reliability, and sustainability—supporting resilient operations and long-term value creation.
