- Hsinchu: On June 17, a squirrel made contact with overhead equipment, cutting power to nearly 1,000 households.
- Chiayi: The National Palace Museum’s southern branch and surrounding hotels lost power during peak evening hours on June 21.
- Yilan: On June 22, Luna Plaza experienced a near hour-long outage during weekend traffic. Lights out, air stagnant, customers left one by one.
- Taipei: Several areas within the city experienced separate outages, impacted over a thousand households and affected surrounding businesses.
These events were triggered by a mix of aging grid infrastructure, equipment failures, and environmental interference. And with power demand rising into peak summer, the risk of further outages is only increasing.
