Light Up the Future! The Little Engineers Dream Project at AMPOWER

Energy has the power to illuminate more than spaces. It can ignite a sense of purpose.

In two meaningful days in July 2025, that power found its way into the hands and minds of future dreamers.

Dozens of curious students from the 1919 After-School Tutoring Program stepped into our New Taipei headquarter (8 July) and Tainan factory (29 July), eager to learn, explore, and build. What followed was a hands-on experience with electricity guided by our colleagues and designed to be as engaging as it was educational.

Supporting the 1919 After-School Tutoring Program

Since 2004, the Chinese Christian Relief Association (CCRA) has provided vital support to children through its various programs. Its 2025 campaign, Good Afternoon, Dream,” encourages children to imagine and pursue bigger futures with the support of their communities.

AMPOWER Joins the Journey

As part of this initiative, we hosted two simple workshops called Light Up the Future: The Little Engineers Dream Project.

For a company rooted in power systems, energy resilience, and future-forward thinking, exploring the world of electricity with these young minds felt like a natural extension of who we are. But beyond sharing knowledge, we hoped to pass on a sense of wonder. We wanted them to feel what it’s like to build something with their own hands, and see it come to life.

The day began with a simple question: What is electricity?

Yikan Liu, our technical manager from the Energy Business Development Center, has designed a series of simple hands-on experiments to explore how electricity is produced, stored, and applied.

Using wires, batteries, and basic components, students built simple circuits and mini hand-crank generators to experience how power flows. They then assembled and customized their own battery-powered 4WD cars, and ended the day with a friendly race, complete with prizes and cheers all around.

Between activities, everyone shared a delightful lunch, followed by guided tours of our office spaces. The students met engineers and professionals, asked questions, and gained a real-world glimpse of what a career in technology might look like.

Beyond the Classroom

As the children packed up their handmade racecars and headed home, something lingered: a quiet sense of pride. Not only in what they had made, but in what they had learned about themselves. For us, it was a reminder that real impact often starts small: with time given, voices heard, and young lives believed in.

Partnerships like this reflect our long-term commitment to education and empowerment. We’re proud to support and will keep supporting programs that shape young minds and help build communities rooted in knowledge, care, and opportunity.

Our sincere thanks to the Chinese Christian Relief Association for their trust and partnership, to volunteers and our colleagues for making this event successful. We look forward to continuing this shared journey of lighting up futures, one spark at a time!
