AMPOWER to Present Trigeneration Solutions at SEMICON 2025

From September 10 to 12, the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center becomes the gathering point for SEMICON Taiwan 2025, where 1,200 exhibitors and over 100,000 professionals converge to map the future of the semiconductor world.

This year’s theme, “Leading with Collaboration. Innovating with the World,” represents an event built on exchange, where practical solutions meet emerging ideas and new connections take shape.

The agenda spans advanced manufacturing, heterogeneous integration, compound semiconductors, smart facilities, and sustainability, emphasizing how Taiwan has become the world’s proving ground for technological breakthroughs.

Among the activities, the Taiwan High-Tech Facility Association (HTFA) presents the R&D Area Poster Exhibition and the High-Tech Facility International Forum. HTFA unites facility managers, researchers, and industry experts to explore how AI, Digital Twin technologies, and new energy systems can improve efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. The goal is to unite smart technologies with sustainability to strengthen businesses and society alike.

At the R&D Area Poster Exhibition, AMPOWER presents our trigeneration technology—turning wastewater into clean energy. Yikan Liu, PhD, Technical Manager of the Energy Business Development Center, will share how this approach helps enterprises build resilient, sustainable energy systems.

Environmental Sustainability and Carbon Reduction: AMPOWER’s Trigeneration Solutions

Challenges & Innovation

High-tech facilities face growing energy demands, limited access to renewables, and rising costs, making on-site sustainable solutions increasingly vital. In partnership with Germany’s 2G Energy, AMPOWER strengthens clients’ resilience with proven high-efficiency gas engines.

Process: From Waste to Watts

The system captures biogas (methane) from anaerobic wastewater treatment to power a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) engine. Paired with an adsorption chiller, it simultaneously produces electricity, heat, and chilled water. This integrated approach turns wastewater into a versatile energy source, supporting high-tech facilities with a reliable, self-sufficient power solution while reducing carbon emissions.

Impact: Environmental & Operational Wins

This fuel-flexible, fully customizable, and scalable system has proven both efficient and impactful. Operational since 2019 at a major electronics manufacturer in Southern Science Park, Tainan City, it generates 190 kW of power, exceeding 850,000 kWh annually. Its achievements include:
•  2.8 million kWh of electricity produced
•  1,400 tons of CO₂e avoided, equivalent to six Daan Forest Parks
•  Full return on investment in about one year
•  2023 SEAL Environmental Initiatives Award
