Taipei Station Power Outage Accident

At 7:16 PM on May 2nd, Taipei Main Station experienced a sudden power outage, causing instability in Taiwan Railways’ power supply and voltage drops, affecting the power supply to the Breeze Taipei Station and Taipei City Mall. This resulted in disrupted lighting and checkout systems in multiple shops within the mall.

Fortunately, Taipei Main Station’s main hall and railway systems are equipped with backup power, ensuring uninterrupted service and averting safety issues during the blackout incident. The outage lasted approximately 10 minutes, and after personnel checked the facility’s conditions, power supply was restored, gradually bringing the mall’s elevators, escalators, and air conditioning systems back online.

In recent years, AMPOWER has actively participated in the establishment of emergency power backup systems for several large-scale shopping malls, including Breeze Plaza in Taipei’s Xinyi District and Mitsui Shopping Park LaLaport in Taipei’s Nangang District.

We tailor comprehensive power systems based on available space, environmental conditions, power demands, and target electrical equipment in commercial buildings. We utilize the most suitable emergency generator sets, associated equipment, and safest construction methods to ensure the uninterrupted operation of malls and office floors, safeguarding the safety of shoppers.
