Energy should be grown locally, adapted to need, and built to last.
We are your energy—crafted close to home.
AMPOWER’s very mission is expertly captured in the article published by Economic Daily News (經濟日報). Their thoughtful reporting also helps shed light on the energy challenges we face, and how AMPOWER are actively building local, low-carbon, and scalable solutions.
In the feature, Chairman Calvin Chen shares our belief that energy should be as local and tailored as small-scale farming: “growing the right power for the right place.” Wherever there’s land and need, we help grow electricity. Here are several highlights from the article:
From Engineering to Energy Ecosystems
Our journey began more than 30 years ago, where we provide backup power to the industrial backbone in Taiwan. Over the decades, we saw the changing tides: a growing urgency to cut carbon, decentralize supply, and rethink resilience.
We now work alongside the most critical industries in Taiwan: semiconductors, manufacturing, data centers, healthcare, and finance. We design site-specific microgrids that combine power generation, storage, and intelligent energy use for facilities where uptime is essential.
Rethinking Hydrogen: Starting With What We Have
The path to a hydrogen economy often seems distant: waiting for high purity pipelines, large-scale electrolyzers, and global infrastructure. But what if part of the answer is already here?
In 2023, AMPOWER partnered with a Tainan-based materials manufacturer and achieved a breakthrough: generating power from industrial surplus hydrogen, a byproduct of silicon dioxide manufacturing, and was awarded Taiwan Renewable Energy certificate for this breakthrough. One compact unit now delivers 110kW of stable power, with no imported fuel, no added emissions, and no waiting on future infrastructure.
“If fully utilized, Taiwan’s surplus hydrogen could supply 60% of current wind power output—significantly supporting energy transition.”
Efficiency That Works in the Real World
We don’t stop at generation. Our systems are designed for energy synergy: converting waste heat into useful outputs like hot water, chilled air, or process energy. One hospital partner has already reduced carbon emissions by 6.7% annually, reaching 90% total energy efficiency. It’s a model that’s practical, measurable, and scalable.
A Broader Energy Ecosystem
A resilient energy future demands more than one solution. That’s why AMPOWER develops integrated systems across diverse technologies:
- Biogas, derived from industrial wastewater, livestock waste, and even brewery residue to power Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems.
- Geothermal, through a joint venture powering the first private geothermal plant in Taitung.
- Behind-the-meter energy storage, enabling businesses to self-balance, grid-share, and earn meaningful energy income.

Local Expertise, Global Reach
As AI workloads and electricity demand rise, companies are turning to self-generation. AMPOWER has been supporting this shift. Today, we’re building critical systems not only in Taiwan, but in the USA, Singapore, and Japan, helping global clients ensure uptime, reduce emissions, and secure control.
To support our partners across Asia, we’ve established a training center in Tainan where engineers receive hands-on experience, ensuring our systems work seamlessly across borders, climates, and regulations.
We’re also co-developing next-gen battery systems: explosion-proof, heat-resistant, and built for demanding environments. Through our Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) model, we deliver outcome-based energy solutions powered by AI-driven predictive maintenance and analytics.
“Taiwan’s clean energy transition can’t wait.
We’re here to make the path reliable, local, and already working.”
— Calvin Chen, Chairman, AMPOWER
