At 7:16 PM on May 2nd, 2024, Taipei Main Station experienced a sudden power outage, causing instability in Taiwan Railways’ power supply and voltage drops, affecting the power supply to the Breeze Taipei Station and Taipei City Mall. This resulted in disrupted lighting and checkout systems in multiple shops within the mall.
On the evening of April 15th, Northern Taiwan faced a potential power outage crisis! The cause was the 403 Hualien earthquake, which resulted in multiple generator failures in various areas, particularly affecting the Hoping Power Plant and Taichung Power Plant, where repair work was further delayed due to aftershocks.
